The Wall

This wall and fence runs along Bloor St on the side of the property of the York Club which is a private club that has been at the corner of St George St for many years. Its building was constructed in 1889 as a private home but the wall isn't present in archival shots that I have seen so I am not sure how long this fence has been here.

The red brick and black fretwork compliment each other beautifully Pat, nice find there.

It looks like they have covered up some tags over the years.

I like that ornate iron work on top of that wall. The bike is a nice added feature in the photo.

Love the brick part of it!

Interesting how the bricks almost look like they have been added at different times maybe even by different masons over the years.

I wonder what changed to bring on the need for a brick wall.

It is a lovely wall! I always like seeing brick and the iron railing adds a nice touch. Too bad they have to keep ahead of the taggers though.

That is the fence of someone who doesn't want the public looking in!

The Wrought Iron fence is really cool and decorative and that red brick sets it all off perfectly.
