Treats For Us?

This group of Mallards was terribly disappointed when I had no food for them. They have become accustomed to people giving them bread which isn't good for them.

  1. It's funny how they swim over to you when you arrive and if you don't toss out some food, they soon give up and move away.

  2. It's too bad people don't realize what is good or bad for them.

  3. RedPat, good for you. These Mallards need to find their own food which is healthier for them than bread. They are cute.

  4. They are so used to being fed, I am sure they were disappointed. Cute Mallard photo. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

  5. I've heard the same about bread, apparently rice is ok for them

  6. Poor ducks—it's hard to break old habits, especially when they involve snacks, even if bread isn’t the healthiest choice for them

  7. A quick investigation, to find there isn't food on offer. Someone will be forthcoming during their day.

  9. Yes, not good and not allowed. But, people do it anyways and the ducks eat it, too. Saw it in Australia, the kangaroos got stomach-ache, it was so sad. Pain gone... next piece of bread (Ingo gave water from his coffee-mug, hoppel-di-hop!).

  11. It's the geese here that demand food. They have more or less crowded all the ducks out!

  12. Sad, but mallards in parks always become accustomed to bread treats. It is a very lovely photo.
