This is one of the garage entrances to yesterday's apartment building. There are actually 3 buildings side by side with all the same wonderful deco facades making up a wonderful complex. I wonder what the interiors are like.
The Deco style emerged from the industrial, machine age featuring geometric designs and clean lines in the 1920s and 1930s. My post today feature the Arts and Crafts style which differed in philosophy, but also resulted in clean lines. Frank Lloyd Wright bridged these two styles by using natural materials, and clean lines.
I don’t think we do those finishing details any more. Or not to the same extent.
ReplyDeleteClassiest garage entrance I've ever seen!
