Enter With Caution
There are several fences in the neighbourhood with little creatures perched on them but this has to be the best of the bunch. This wonderful steel beaver has been sitting above this gate for a few years and has taken on a lovely rusty patina. The beaver is the national animal of Canada so we see it used in many places such as on some of our coins. And yes there is a bizarre dog behind that gate!
This one is very nice too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the beaver is the national animal of Canada.
What does it mean "bizarre dog"?
Nice catch!
ReplyDeleteIn a previous life time i walked on Roots shoes, they also carried this beaver as their logo.
Lucia - The dog that lives there is always barking at people and dogs as they walk by! He's a bit crazy at times.
ReplyDeleteEyeliquor - Roots shoes are always so comfy!
I love the critter on the gate but, I especially love the bizarre dog sign. That is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteOk,I know what a fake owl is used for, but what, pray tell, does this beaver keep away from the yard? hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat's cute. Mine would have a Squirrel.
ReplyDeleteI like this. It is probably more meaningful up in Canada than it would be down here.
ReplyDeleteThink I want to duck as I enter through this gate
ReplyDeleteCool gate -- I enlarged to look at the sign -- then I wondered if bizarre had a different meaning -- I saw your comment above though. Pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue in the post below as well.
Here we are not so subtle, we normally say "ferocious dog"!
ReplyDeleteBut in French is much more charming! ;-)
