Bike Stands at the ROM 7
One last bike stand for now and it too is from the ROM. I have gone by several times and there are always bikes on this one but I have a feeling that they are permanent installations judging by the rust on the bikes. There seem to be a few people in the city who are into locking bikes to bike stands and abandoning them there forever - who knows why! Anyway this stand is a beauty - a wonderful zebra representing the mammal collection of the museum.
I hope you're right and they're permanent installations; last month I went to a place I had visited before just to photograph the photo collages and sculptures, but I didn't find them, I thought they were permanent but I was wrong...
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice zebra!Do you think that maybe the owners forgot were they parked their bikes?
I love the zebra, who is even rustier than the bikes. (Or is that brown paint? No, not for a zebra.)
ReplyDeleteInteresting photo.

The bike stands and those bikes are designed with coordinating rust. I still find those bike stands quite charming.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I don't think anybody's going to ride off on those and they look like they should be part of the stand..but on the other hand, that means nobody elsle could use it. Again, I really do love these things.
ReplyDeleteGood thing we didn't have to pick a favorite. I like them all.
ReplyDeleteThose are kind of nice looking bikes to have been left there.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired just looking at all your bike racks. Whew! hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteAll the series of bike stands has been great, a lot of creativity going on over there. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteany significance to this bike stand from raw steel and the others galvanized? i too have noticed that someone or group of people do lock bikes to stands around the city with the intention of simple leaving them there!? very strange and a pain when you are in need of an empty bike stand.
ReplyDeleteloved this series, thanks
