Stan Walker Drugs Part 2
This is another of the windows from the old Stan Walker Drug store and you can see that this sign has suffered a bit more damage. Both the signs are back-painted glass and they face north so there is little direct sun on them hence their general good condition. The pressed tin detailing that wraps around the corner of the building has been kept in good shape too. I hadn't heard of Bromo-Seltzer in years but I guess you can still buy it!
I really like this style, I don't know how to say this in English, but it seems "inviting", friendly. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like the frame around the window and that flower box is wonderful
ReplyDeleteI think it is charming. If it were mine, I might lose the awnings, but maybe they are needed for practical reasons to ward off the intense sun. If not . . . off they go!
ReplyDeleteI might be needing some of that this weekend. A couple of socials are planned. Nice spot, Pat:-)
ReplyDeleteBet it looks great when the awning is extended.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are abundant and help make the storefront very attractive. Haven't seen bromo-seltzer for sale in years. Can't imagine using it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really attractive building, love the pressed metal detailing! Is Bromo-Seltzer something like Enos, for indigestion?? Questions, questions!! Have a great weekend Red.
ReplyDeleteNot too many of these stores around anymore as the big chains take over
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing...I haven't heard of Bromo-Seltzer in ages and ages. What a fun sign.
