The Railpath


I thought I should show you a typical view down the path as we start wandering down - the whole pathway has been planted with indigenous plants and has now been left to naturalize (I even saw a warning about poison ivy in 1 area) resulting in this great swath of greenery between the path and the factories on the left and the railway tracks on the right. This large building was originally a rubber factory but is now part storage rental and mostly artist studios. As you can see the path is great for dog-walking!

    I like the fact it was initially planted and now they let nature develop by itself.
    Fantastic idea, the path became a nice place for a walk, and even the dogs can gave fun! ;-)

    This seems to be the thing in most big cities, turning old track into walking paths. In like it!

    Looks like our paths in unmaintained areas, overgrown. I just try to stay away from places that have sticky or thorny weeds that get on my dog.

    That looks like a cute little french bulldog, I think...

    This is a very interesting walk you're taking us on Red, who would have thought when we came up those stairs there would be a such a great place to walk or ride. Nice one!

    Nice to see that the old railway line is being brought back into use. Our little city is criss-crossed with old suburban railways, and they make great pedestrian/cycle paths. No poison ivy, tho!
