Dundas & Dufferin Mural

Another of Jose Ortega's designs for Dundas West, I think this mural has been there the longest. Located on a very busy corner that I have driven past many times, it was the one that first brought me to the neighbourhood looking for more murals. I waited until the trees dropped their leaves and it was hard to get a pic with traffic whizzing by but you can see his trademark colours brightening this space.

  3. Isn't it beautiful? You're right, it wouldn't have been easy to see the mural when the trees were in leaf. Thanks for thinking of that, and for capturing it for us now!

  5. This is pretty nice, but I remain ambivalent about whether murals -- even nice ones like this -- are superior to just cleaning up and repairing the buildings and letting their original architecture shine through. Yes, I know. I am a traditional old fart.

  7. Well done for getting the shot. I understand why some people object to murals, but I also think it is important we let others express their thoughts about our (and their) surroundings.

  9. Great murals.....Next time I'm in the area I'll take a peek at them. I must be blind driving around and not noticing these murals, but I live in Etobicoke and don't get into that area too often. Thanks for sharing.
