I love the simple elegance of this sign which I found on a restaurant on Queen St West in Parkdale when I was out hunting for more bike stands (which I still have a lot more of to post). The Sister used to be called Mitzi's Sister when it was first opened by the owner of Mitzi's which is a small restaurant/gallery on a near-by residential street but after a refurbishing the younger sister dropped the Mitzi's and is doing her own thing which includes local art on the wall, live music on the weekend, and a busy brunch scene!

You have a wonderful, active arts scene up there. Including bike stands and bars.
ReplyDeleteI like that sign and the concept.
ReplyDeleteBike stands now we are talking. lol
ReplyDeleteI like the qwerky sign..
These multi-use restaurants are so much fun. A great way to get a regular crowd in.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a place I would like. The name is cute too!
ReplyDeleteAnother cool one :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the joys of living in a real city - lots of places to eat!
ReplyDeleteMmm, looks like a great place for brunch.

It looks like a great place to go with friends. Art, music and good food. What else could we ask for? ;-)

ReplyDeleteThere are some restaurant names where you really need to know the history to understand. Brunch - I love that idea!
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to see people take the extra step on signs, it is so easy to think it isn't that important, when, as you have pointed out, it is, it captures your eye and you share it with others.
ReplyDeleteI too love simple signage.

ReplyDeleteClever younger sister. :)
ReplyDeleteWould definitely like visiting this place!
ReplyDeleteNice sign, Pat!
I love restaurants that offer art and music. They are very appealing and commonplace here where we live. The sign is really different. Enjoyed reading the story. genie
ReplyDeleteI notice the younger sister has a star on her sign...does that signify anything - like a bit of sibling rivalry??? Sounds like an interesting place and I'd visit it in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteI the the star really sets it off, and the name is plain and simple. I like it!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear one sister continued the venture. Nice sign.
ReplyDeleteNice find. I like the simplicity too.
ReplyDeleteSisters ... doin' it for themselves.
ReplyDelete'Star' sigh Red, shame about the Mitzi..cool name.
ReplyDeleteThe Sister with a star on it. Nice. There's on in Scarborough called Sisters.
