Church Detail
I went for a walk today past yesterday's church and thought that I would show you some of the details of the brick work and carvings. This pic is taken looking up the left side of the steeple to the gorgeous blue sky we have today. Love that carving! Enlarge to see it better.
very nice! It looks like that light shines up, so it might make for a good night shot also.
ReplyDeleteThat is a carving skill that no doubt has been lost over the years.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
These are great details, RedPa. I like looking closely at details as well as taking in the whole.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, that carving is just stunning. While it is an art that isn't lost, it is certainly one that is so cost prohibitive you sadly don't see much of it any more.
ReplyDeleteDetails make the difference, right?! ;-)
ReplyDeleteDon't recall seeing a carving decorating the base end of a column like that before, most unusual. Great find.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very unusual. Brick buildings are not usually that fancy, in my experience.
ReplyDeleteCompared to most of the buildings constructed today ... well, generally, the same amount of attention to detail is not a requisite...but it's those details like this carving that help to make a structure "timeless." Also, I think the pattern of the brick and in the brick give the building a distinctive and unique feel. It's truly lovely!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot I love this angle, Pat.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast!
ReplyDeleteLove details and angle, great shot RedPat!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful details.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully shown Red, that's an intricate piece of carving.
ReplyDeleteThat is some beautiful brick work.
ReplyDeleteI love details. Thanks for showing these. I wish they made buildings like this nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI like the detail on old buildings. Yesterday was a gorgeous day, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful brick wall!
ReplyDeleteNicely framed, Pat. Lovely shot.
