Little House On The Laneway

Another laneway house to show you - this one just off West Queen West St and probably the tiniest one we have seen. It is a prime area and probably more fun to live in than the 400 sq ft condos that developers are flogging in Toronto these days. The bricks are a mess but the door and windows are tidy and painted so someone is taking care of it - bet the inside is cute!
And there is a strange creature lurking up along the left of the pic - to be revealed tomorrow.

  1. There are a lot of 'laneway' houses being built in my neighbourhood now. Some are built at the same time as a new house, others are built behind existing homes.

  2. Wow, a little bit of work on those messy bricks and this thing would look like a joy!

  3. All those windows must mean it is really light inside.

  4. I hope they renovate the brickwork rather than tear it down.

  5. Another of these "camouflaged" houses, Pat. I think the interior will be much better than the exterior...

  6. 400 sq. ft. condos? Sounds like Paris!

This place just isn't my style but I would like to see the inside and I'm very interested in the creature...strange creatures lurking lure me, strange as that may seem!

  7. I took a second look at the shot and I see tomorrow's feature. But I can't tell exactly what it is. Hope I can wait! And love this little laneway home. :)

  8. Small but cozy, I'd love to live in a house with big windows. :)

  9. Love these lane way houses, they are all so unique. The windows near the front door intrigue me. I can't tell if they are in bad shape or intentionally designed that way.

  11. This is tiny! I hope they aren't pack rats.

    400 square feet?!?!?

  12. I imagine it being quite 'Tardis' like inside... both in terms of size and neat, tidy decor in comparison to the rather run down appearance of the exterior.

  13. Some of these little places can pack a lot into an upstairs downstairs situation, it's all in the design. Would looooove to see inside. Can't wait to see what the 'creature' can make out something up there but not what it is!
