This is another of my discoveries along the commercial laneways off Queen St West. I am not sure what the reference is other than playing cards but it gave me a real smile when I happened upon it. No idea who the artist is but it is unfortunate that some fool decided to blast across the middle of it with black paint!
Taking part in Monday Murals. For more murals click here.
you could have said ...some 'joker'! that style looks familiar, he must have other works around that I have seen.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that hit me was Alice and Through-The-Looking-glass, but first impressions are misleading.
ReplyDeleteI thought about the crazy Queen of Alice in Wonderlands... But I like this King anyway! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity someone damaged this beautiful work...
What a great graphic! I almost laughed out loud when I first saw it. And yes, there are too many damn fools in this world!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Whatever it means, I love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteA fun find, like the way the windows are incorporated in the design.
ReplyDeleteToo bad someone couldn't resist adding his mark. It's a fun mural just the same, though.
ReplyDeletegreat find!:)
ReplyDeleteIt is an amusing mural, Pat. As you say it's amazing what idiots will do for nothing else than a malicious desire to be destructive.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Red Pat!
ReplyDeleteI pity the fool ;)
It gave me smile.
ReplyDeleteOkay - this ranks right up there as one of my favorites. What a great sense of humor, and the skeletal joker is really awesome. Love the way they used the boarded up windows. Great capture!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun little creature, it made me smile from the thumbnail, and even more when I saw it on your site. I think I like the crown best :-). Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteit's thought provoking that's what it is. pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteVery humorous. The King must be a caricature of a real person, don't you think? I don't know what the message is either. But an interesting composition that must have meaning for insiders. Thanks, Pat, for participating in this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteWhat a chubby little thing.
ReplyDeleteLove that...
ReplyDeleteLike others, my mind turned to Alice with the playing cards. Perhaps there is a political message there? It's a wonderful mural and we coud use less narcissistic jokers in this world.
ReplyDeleteThere's always one... another great mural!
ReplyDeleteThis one is just fun!
ReplyDeleteA unique mural for sure. I find the Joker quite interesting. Thanks for the comment on my mural - goats playing cards.
ReplyDeleteThe joker's face looked a bit scary.
ReplyDeleteBut the whole mural is very nice.
I like it Pat, even though the joker is a wee bit scary!!
