Season Over - Sunnyside Bathing Pavilion
This is the side of the Sunnyside Bathing Pavilion facing out onto the beach and Lake Ontario, now all closed for the season with boats from rowing clubs stored under the arches. In summer there is a cafe under the arches and outside along behind the fence which is beside the boardwalk. It's still a nice place for a stroll now if the weather isn't too windy but no sunbathers are to be found on the beach!
I bet it's a busy place in summer.
ReplyDeleteThis really is a beautiful place. It reminds me of days past and even looks like it could be used as a movie set for a period piece.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity they close it during winter, I think it's a very nice place to visit. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the people and events going on here during the warm weather. It is a gorgeous pavilion.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go there myself sometime soon. Lovely building!
ReplyDeleteI have a an older brother and he told Sunnyside was the place for young people to hang out in the summertime.
ReplyDeleteThis has a lovely deserted winter beach feel to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a place! :))
ReplyDeleteGreat building! Great photo too. I wouldn't mind visiting this place in the summer... and having an iced coffee. ;) Happy Holidays!!
ReplyDeleteWow - You can just see this place in the 1920s and 30s, what a symbol of a different time.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big pavilion.
ReplyDeleteHow different it looks to me this time of year!
ReplyDeleteYou're giving me goose bumps!
ReplyDeleteEven in the winter this place manages to look summery!
ReplyDeleteSuch a super building Pat, in my imagination I can imagine the scene here when it was first built in the 1920 's , it would have been the place to be seen I bet..
