Can't See The Casa For The Trees

I showed you the front entrance of Casa Loma last week and thought I would give you an idea as to why you never see pics from the other side. Casa Loma sits at the top of a steep hill (110 steps to the top) that runs up from Davenport Rd and is covered in trees and gardens. In summer you can barely see the Casa but this winter pic gives us a little peek of it looking down over the middle of the city!
I'm still pre-posting but hope to be back to normal this week.

  4. One of the fun things about winter is that you get another whole sense of a community when the trees are shed of their leaves. Casa Loma has quite a perch from which to look over the city!

  5. I walked up those stairs when visited, and you are right you don't see a thing in the summer until you are upon it. Thank you for letting me see this fabulous place in the winter without leaving the comfort of my warm home :-).

  6. Lowell is right. Once the leaves go, we get a very different look at things.

  7. This is the view I usually see. I guess this view is from Spadina where it comes up to Davenport? I still need to visit this place! :)

  9. Too bad the view is spoiled for the people inside Casa Loma. (Or maybe it's a good thing.)

  10. If I've seen that side of the property, it would have been when I was a kid. I don't recall that area from more recent trips. Regardless, it's been a few years since I was there.
