Snowy Laneway
As you all know, I love to wander about in the laneways that run along behind the back yards of many of the streets in the older parts of town and provide access to garages and parking spaces. They are often peppered with murals and tagging especially in the commercial areas but this particular one is in a quiet mid-town neighbourhood and is just a tranquil spot after a snow fall when few cars have travelled down here yet and even fewer people have dug out their garages.
I just got this mental image of you trudging around in your wellie boots Pat, would love to join you!
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of community in which I spent my early childhood. I loved the "laneways" (we called 'em alleys!) and still do, but unfortunately, they have become a rarity everywhere in this country.
ReplyDeleteAnother serene photo. I can feel the snow crunching under my feet!
P.S. It's going to be 85 degree F here today! No snow in sight.
Now, THIS is what I like. A laneway (or "alley" down here) without tagging.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I hear the temperature will be well above freezing this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely wintery scene, we have not had any snow in the UK yet - guess I might come to regret that comment!!
ReplyDeleteYou have quite a bit of snow. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteA tunnel of snow!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty, but I imagine its not so much fun for those who have to dig out their garages
ReplyDeleteThis laneway reminds me of a loft I lived at in Ottawa for a year. There was a laneway rather like this that I'd usually take heading for home.
ReplyDeletelovely :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun picture, and what timing, to capture it with only a few tire ruts. Looks cold!
ReplyDeleteI just love quiet snowy streets - happy memories of childhood.
