Universally Good
Last week I went for dinner at the Universal Grill which is a great restaurant located in what had originally been a 30s diner, then a Chinese restaurant for quite awhile, and became the Universal in the 90s. As you can see they have retained a lot of the original decor including the wonderful tin ceiling and the counter. Serving "upscale comfort food", it is a great place for a nice dinner.
Universal Grill looks like somewhere you could enjoy a relaxed meal Pat, sort of 'laid back' right!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a diner from the 1950s. Good food and plenty of it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place!

ReplyDeletelooks great!
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage look.
ReplyDeleteLooks a lot like one of our diners from the 1960s. I loved those places but they're far and few between now. Where are the mini-jukeboxes? :)
ReplyDeleteCool place!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you have for dinner? ;-)
My kind of place! I love old style diners especially since we don't have any here!
ReplyDeleteHope the food was as much fun as the décor!
ReplyDeleteThose seats look nice and comfy!
ReplyDeleteIt does look quite retro!
ReplyDeleteLove those swivel seats.
ReplyDeleteI'd happily spend a long, lazy meal there (having fun on those seats too:)
ReplyDeleteI like places like this.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am back in the 1960s.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great vintage diner, and I imagine they stay busy still. I am not sure that the original diners had such nice wine glasses (if they served wine at all). I'm ready! Let's go.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie

There's something universally appealing about a diner. Getting good food there is a definite plus.
