Concrete Details
Just a quick shot of one small section of the Medical Science Building at U of Toronto which was the location of yesterday's "Squares" sculpture. The facade of the whole building is covered in wonderful 3-dimensional concrete patterns that vary throughout the structure. It is a super example of Brutalist design that is friendly to the eye and really works well unlike some that are just brutal!
I have to agree with you on that one
ReplyDeleteHmm. Not sure about that. But it's certainly impressive.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one Pat. And I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteCertainly is a unique texture on this concrete wall. Makes for a strong photo.
ReplyDeletewow! i'm guessing you don't get a lot of mold and moss growing there - that would be a lot of power-washing involved! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm . . . brutalist architecture for a medical science building. Not the kind of combination I instinctively would have looked for. :-)
ReplyDeleteI can now see how yesterday's work with the squares sort of blends right in with the building. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteFantastic façade!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive, I like all the different lengths and shapes!
ReplyDeleteQuite unique!
ReplyDeleteHave never seen anything quite like this and I really like it. Not usually a fan of concrete buildings, but this one changes my mind!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite different!
ReplyDeleteWow! Simply amazing. I would love to see this in person. This might even be an example of brutalism that I like. That would be a first!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite striking, but I can't say I like it.
ReplyDeleteStrange and both original. Great contrapicadol!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, really! I would love to see this myself.
ReplyDeleteGoodness Pat, just the name of the style is a little frightening :) Very unique but I think something a little softer for moi :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting design.
