Share A Book

I was out for a walk in the Casa Loma neighbourhhood and happened upon a Little Free Library box. I had heard of them but this is the first one I have seen so I immediately crossed the road and there in the middle of the row of books was Sue Grafton's "W Is For Wasted"!  Needless to say, I brought it home and am now half-way through. I love the idea of these little libraries - click here to read more about them.

  1. This is marvellous. I don't think it would stay stocked here.

  2. Great idea. I have left a few books on park benches for everyone to take home.

  4. I'm enjoying your ongoing pix of TO. We lived there for 3 years 40 years ago and loved it, though I hate the traffic to get there now. This free library is neat! We lived on Castle View Ave. for one of those years, a beautiful neighbourhood.

  8. What a neat concept. I've never seen one before. The closest thing to that I've ever seen is a shelf of books in campgrounds, usually in the laundry room.

  11. Great aren't they? Old red phone boxes are sometimes used for the same purpose over here.

  16. There is something like this near our new apartment. It's more like a phone booth though and the books are all German. :(

  17. I came across these little free libraries a few weeks ago and clicked on their website. I randomly clicked on one in Iowa and discovered it was someone I know. It is a small world. What a great idea these are.

  20. There is one not far from me, and I have shown it once or twice before. The little free library movement is a wonderful one! (I only give away books, never take any . . . )
