Salsa In The City

Two weekends ago was the 10th Annual Salsa On St Clair festival when a stretch of St Clair Ave is closed for the 2 days and the street is taken over by Latin culture. There is entertainment, dancing, dancing lessons, lots of Latin food, and just plain fun. This year it rained on Saturday but Sunday was sunny and warm so lots of people were out and about. This pic was taken mid-afternoon before the street was packed. It was fabulous watching the dancers  - the blonde woman with the pony tail was a really good salsa dancer! I'll show you a bit of the entertainment tomorrow.

  1. A stretch of fine weather and what do Canadians do? They start dancing in the streets! Must have been a really rough winter. . .

  4. Great photo. I'm thinking how much those jeans with holes in them must have cost her. Then I realize her partner needs to tie his shoes. He's going to trip. Yep, lots to look at in this photo.

  6. You Canadians do know how to have fun! Can't imagine dancing in the street, although old folks in The Villages dance every night of the year (if it's not raining) in the town squares.

And you've been celebrating this festival for 10 years. Kudos to everyone involved!

  7. What a fun event. Great action photo. It's often hard to get the feel of the dance in a photo, but you've done it.
