In mid july a 7 year old girl was hit and killed by a van as she crossed the road from a playground to go home. Since then someone has started to produce these signs and they are springing up all across the city. We can only hope that they are working to remind people to watch out for the little ones.

I really hope they work !
ReplyDeleteA good message for most people, whether they drive or not.
ReplyDeleteA great idea and let's hope it works. The trouble with signs, though, is that they become familiar and have a limited shelf-life. Also a view today is that many signs are just ignored because there are too many for us to take on board.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Gotta go!
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear about the child getting killed. I have a similar sign on my blog today warning aggressive drivers to slow down.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad. A shame that a tragedy must take place before measures to curb such events are implemented.
ReplyDeletesad start, but hopefully a better outcome for others.
ReplyDeleteI think drivers are worse than ever. Too many are taking dangerous chances! Where are we rushing to...and why?
ReplyDeleteI hope they do work!
ReplyDeleteI hope it works. It an eye catching sign.
ReplyDeleteHope it works.
ReplyDeleteCertainly gets the message across.
ReplyDeleteReally nice sign!
ReplyDeleteI hope they work! This one is certainly eye catching.
ReplyDeleteI think people start blocking out the regular signs the city puts up to watch for children, seniors, etc. This one is much more noticeable and artistic.
ReplyDeleteYes, let's hope they work.
ReplyDeleteSad reason for it but it's a memorable sign. Round here we have a 20mph limit in our residential streets - but I'm not sure many people take any notice.
ReplyDeleteJust like the sign many people see right through kids.
ReplyDeleteIt is an eye-catching sign but I wonder if a driver might actually be so distracted by the sign that they take their eyes off the road.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragic reason to start this sign campaign. Hope drivers pay attention.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this type in Europe. But it is definitely a wise decision.
ReplyDeletevery nice sign.
ReplyDeleteMy SIGNS, SIGNS
This sign certainly stands out more than the standard children at play motif.
ReplyDeleteNice graphic sign.
ReplyDeleteIf this sign helps, it will be well worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteConnects on a gut level deeper than word or warning. Good work!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sign...sure gets the point across. The world seems to be in a big hurry toady. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteHope they work Pat. We have a very strict 40km speed limit by school crossings during school start and finish times, works really well.
ReplyDeletelovely alert to little ones. sorry about the reason they've cropped up, but kids are hard to see in traffic.
ReplyDeleteOh so sad.
ReplyDeleteStop this crazy Drivers.
All is ruled by cars.

ReplyDeleteDrivers with more care and more attention. I got hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in July, and I still have pain in the side :((
