Mystery Solved
The poles and the 36 LED lights installed on them are part of a public art installation by artists Christian Giroux & Daniel Young. It is titled "Nyctophilia" which means love of the night & darkness and the grove of streetlights is meant to create a cloud of light on this corner and bring some life to the area. Apparently the colours can be programed to change for the season but so far I have only seen this combo!
Pretty. I'm guessing the colours will soon be red and green. ;)
ReplyDeletewell, i hope it'll bring some life to the area. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Enlightening.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling it was some kind of art installation. Another very clever idea.
ReplyDeleteNyctophilia? You're kidding, right? :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for clearing up that mystery, and for going back after dark for the cool night photo.
ReplyDeleteGlad my bedroom window isn't nearby. 8-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I only see the typical white street lights.
ReplyDeleteGreat color.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pools of light!
ReplyDeleteI came straight from yesterday's post to see the answer Pat, looks fab, light at night is good, except as RR pointed out if it's pouring in your bedroom window :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Maybe they will be orange for Halloween?
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks much better at night! My guess is the colors will change when the holidays come around.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, RedPat!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have not been much of a visitor lately. Between 18 days traveling in Italy, then three days to drive south, and now rotten internet service down here, I have had little time or opportunity to visit friends' blogs. The cable guy comes tomorrow. I hope everything gets fixed so I can get back to normal.
Good idea Pat, put the picture at night:))
