Different Tastes

Semi-detached homes of various vintages are common all over Toronto and sometimes one of the halves will undergo big renovations such as we see here. Originally both sides of this pair would have looked like the home on the left but someone with modern taste has rebuilt and changed the right side a lot. I really like it and think that they work well together. Taken when the weather was warmer than now!

    As you know we watch HGTV all the time and have seen so many renovations of these semi-detached homes in Toronto (Love It or List It). Very enjoyable. Many of them, being very old, need substantial work.

    This is a lovely structure (the new side - I like it a lot.

    This house rises up like a Frankenstein monster put together will pieces that doesn't fit together.

    I kind of like it too! I wonder if they consulted their neighbors before they renovated or just surprised them.
