This pretty little church is Our Lady Of Victory Roman Catholic Church which is located in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood. The parish celebrated its 75th anniversary last year but I think this building didn't appear until the 50s. Once again, the doors were locked so I couldn't get in although I could see that there are some lovely stained glass windows along the side of the church.

A very pretty church indeed, a shame you couldn't get inside!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Aimee, a very sweet church Pat, let's hope one day when you're passing the door will be open, would love to see those windows and the interior.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely you are right small but nice
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!

ReplyDeleteThis is a charming church, and hopefully one day you arrive while it's open! I bet it's just lovely inside.
ReplyDeletea very different model for a catholic church, but i like it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a bit chilly when you took this photo.
ReplyDeleteTimes have changed. Growing up our church was open 24 hours a day. No locks.
ReplyDeleteNice Pat. I see snow. Are wandering out again? ;))
ReplyDeleteThere was an era - maybe the 50s - when many churches were built with these kinds of stairs leading to multiple entries. I like this - it looks manageable. Most of the Catholic churches here are huge!
ReplyDeleteSweet little place

Pretty little church.
ReplyDeleteI was a member of this parish from just before the building of this church. This parish was an adjunct to St John's in Weston. If you count the age from the building of its first church (1923 approx) it is closer to 100 years. Facebook commentary at Our Lady of Victory. George LeMay was the contractor. He and his family lived just down the street on Guestville Ave (114). Mount Dennis was still quite rural in 1953 and was built up after WW2. I would leave a picture of the first church if there was a way. (Teddie Wright).
