University Door

This is one of the side doors at University College which is the oldest college at U of Toronto. The whole college building has wonderful carvings all over it and even this small door has columns each of which is unique. And check out those hinges!

  2. Striking how different the capitals on those two columns are! Always enjoyed walking through or past UC and Hart House when I was there, such beautiful old buildings!

  6. They are amazing hinges, and the entire building within the frame and door itself, wow, this would be fun to own as well. Imagine that, I sure could, an entry to my own castle! Hehehe!

  7. Great looking neo-classic door. Suspect academic buildings were trying to suggest a character of the medieval universities.

  14. I see hinges like that on old church or other institutional doors, but I never get tired of them. Classics!
