Spring Occupancy Delayed
The lovely bird's nest I showed you a week ago was covered with snow as I walked by during a bit of snow fall. I think spring may be delayed here this year as the Great Lakes have a lot more ice cover than normal and the jet stream doesn't seem to want to give us any warmth with our temperatures being way below normal. The dark spots on the pic are snow flakes!
we're about a month late here in texas this year. the wildflowers and blooming trees began but were frozen and snowed out last week (and again scheduled for tomorrow!)
ReplyDeleteHa, nice detail and good title !
ReplyDeleteI'd say that nest is snowed in right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's snowing here today as well. But don't give up hope. Spring will come and a bird may occupy that nest.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not ready for occupation Pat :) so much snow, you must be wondering when it's going to end.
ReplyDeleteYep that does look a bit too chilly too call home at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the weather is going to rise soon...but not too quickly as I hate it when there's flooding!
ReplyDeleteThe little family is going need a tiny shovel to clear the snow! I'm hoping spring is truly around the corner, for all of us!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the air conditioning was switched on a little early!
ReplyDeleteI am not expecting any sign of spring for at least five more weeks.
ReplyDeleteHopefully its owners won't arrive too early!
ReplyDeleteThat's not good, at least for the birds...
ReplyDeleteView of a very different world. Thank you

Got your message but deleted it by mistake on my tablet. Spring might be here but we still had snow
ReplyDeleteOh, that made me smile - well seen. March started with a little snow here too but it's predicted to warm up a lot by the weekend. I've seen a few little birds flirting already.
ReplyDeleteBirds are waiting for birds
ReplyDeleteYes February was extremely cold but that is normal compared to the mild weather of the last few decades. Just saying. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty shot. I saw a satellite picture on the news of the ice cover on the Great Lakes right now. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteNot time to come back from the south!
ReplyDeleteLets hope they don't find another place.
ReplyDeleteLooks too cold to live in that next for the birds. Our spring is one month too early but not complaining.
