Facades

I showed you a pic of the lovely Victorian homes (HERE) that are to be part of a commercial condo complex and I went by recently to check the progress. Well, it is quite apparent that only the facades of the old beauties are being retained and the complex will be built above them. I'll keep an eye on this project to see how it turns out but it is a bit disappointing to see this stage.

  5. Well, I guess it's good to at least keep the façade but it does seem a shame that the whole buildings couldn't be preserved.

  7. A bit weird, if not outright unreal... Great picture, by the way!

  8. I had a feeling that would happen Pat, still the old facades will have a nicer street presence than modern glass!

  9. Quite a shame. Not that condo developers see it that way.

  12. Building and replacing always long and weary times, but once it's all completed hopefully it will shine!

  13. What a shame. It's almost as bad as 'faux Victorian' when they do this.

  16. I agree, this is a bit disappointing. And developers never lie, or exaggerate their intentions, do they?!
