Another 60s Church

This church, All Saints Roman Catholic Church, built in 1967, has to be one of the more unusual looking churches that I have seen. At first I though that it might be a hexagon but walking around the outside you can see that it is irregular in shape - not sure how many sides it has. I would love to see the inside but once again it was locked! It feels as if it might be partly below grade but I am not sure.

  6. A very interesting design. We seem to have a lot of these oddly shaped and designed churches around here.

  12. does look rather spreading out than rising up - which may indeed be a message.

  13. Like the look of the copper roof. The 1960s is not noted for its great architectural styles, but his is a good looking building.

  16. The 1960s were a low point in architecture, weren't they?

  19. I have to say, the outside doesn't appeal to me. But I bet it's really nice inside.

  20. A flat roof like that doesn't sound very wise for a climate that gets snow. I bet someone spends a lot of winter hours shovelling snow off the roof.

  21. Don't know why but most 1960's catholic churches are ugly, the designers must have had no imagination to draw them. Sunday morning it should be open for Mass

  22. The 60s really weren't a good time for architecture... this one looks like a bunker!
