We take our raccoons seriously in Toronto and there hundreds of thousands of them living here, sometimes causing havoc but also entertaining. This particular raccoon with trumpet was spotted on a utility box outside The Rex Hotel, Jazz & Blues Bar on Queen St West. He may have just stepped outside after a gig in the bar. The artist for this one is Blackburn who has also done a couple of other raccoon murals around town.

ha, I have a soft spot for raccoons because they seem smart.
ReplyDeleteThey also hang out as families, which is sweet.
Happy Monday, Red Pat!
I admit I love raccoons too!
ReplyDeleteCute little fellow
ReplyDeleteWell, I think you might have already guessed that I like raccoons too. ;)
ReplyDeleteA horn playing raccoon is a creature to admire!
ReplyDeleteAre raccoons that big..?! Eek!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a good way to liven up a utility box!
ReplyDeleteQuite a cute mural and a lovely way to hide an ugly box.
ReplyDeleteVery funky!
ReplyDeletePretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a real raccoon, but I like this one!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of raccoons and this utility box. Wish they'd art-up some of ours.
ReplyDeleteDoes the mural include the bike, too?
ReplyDeleteWohoo, that little fella would make me smile every day!
ReplyDeleteI like this - for one brief moment I thought the bike was part of the design.
ReplyDeleteA cool cat... ;)
ReplyDeleteThats a cool artwork.

ReplyDeleteNice enhancement to utility box.
ReplyDeletepretty cute.
ReplyDeleteHep Cat!
ReplyDeleteWeird. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell as long as he's not playing that in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteI like this new (and admittedly small) trend of painting utility boxes.
ReplyDeleteAutocorrect corrected me again incorrectly and I had to go back to uncorrect the correction. Do you ever wonder what dumb things we end up saying when autocorrect changes something we typed and we didn't notice it? Maybe the world thinks I am illiterate because of my friend, autocorrect.
How long have you had that sandwich thingy in the "prove you're not a robot" section?
ReplyDeleteHaving local artist paint utility boxes is such a great program. This is being done in San Diego, CA also. This one is wonderfully strong.
ReplyDeleteA nicely decorated box and a cute racoon. I like it! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteNow this artist's capture is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou can see in his eyes that he takes his music seriously. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
