Theme Day - "Shelter"

The October theme for the City Daily Photo Blog community is "Shelter" and I chose these wonderful umbrellas that offer shelter from the sun which we all need even on fall days when it is cool but the sun is really strong. I really liked the fact that these ones say "Toronto's Original" which refers to the Amsterdam Brewing company having opened the first brew pub in Toronto in 1986. They have come a long way since then and you can sample their products at bars and restaurants all over the city.

    Such a familiar sight Pat.. The Amsterdam Brewing company sounds like it's doing big business in Toronto!

    Umbrellas of all kinds provide wonderful shelters in all kinds of weather. These look like they are coordinated with the colors of the brick, too.

    We definitely need protection from the sun in the last decades. Portugal is known for its 300 sunny days a year; the problem is that we didn't pay much attention to the warnings back in the 70s or the 80s and some of us are now paying for it.

    I like the red umbrellas. Looks like a great place for a bite to eat. The fence is really neat with the bicycle rims in it.

    We use umbrellas more against the rain here but, rain or shine, you'll find me under one.
