This is the info sign included as part of the murals I have shown over the last two days. The murals' purpose is to promote the Green Line which is a proposed 5 km long linear park which will run along a Hydro corridor just north of the railway tracks that run through the city south of Davenport Road. There are already several small parks that are established but more need to be formed as well as some access to established parking lots is needed to connect the green spaces. For more info you can check out the Green line site HERE. I took a walk with the group in the spring and it will be super thing when and if it is ever finished.

I caught your line "when and if it is ever finished." That's the trouble with so many good municipal ideas. Politics always plays a part and resources are often re-routed to other projects while good ones languish. This Green Line sounds like a wonderful idea and I hope it is completed.
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a perfect way to promote such a wonderful project and Green Line is such a great name for it too.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do finish it! Love the sign. :)
ReplyDeleteA new park, sounds good, Pat !
ReplyDeletenice that they tie it in.
ReplyDeleteGreat series! Not only because the photos are cool but also because of the project itself.
ReplyDeleteI had Johnny Cash on mind looking at the first post...
ReplyDeleteWe've got a few linear parks here and there, some of which do follow hydro lines.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the name of Johnny Cash. That makes it even more special and nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It would indeed be an enjoyable route to walk! The green murals are very fresh and energetic I suppose! What's the conncetion with Johnny Cash? or is it just because it is along the railway line and they thought of his song?
ReplyDeleteJohnny Cash has inspired people to do many things, but a 5K linear park is not one that springs to mind. What a great idea. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteJohnny is still leaving his mark. Even after death.
ReplyDeleteBut what is the Johnny Cash connection?
ReplyDeleteA great project in the name of Johnny Cash.
ReplyDeleteA worthy, worthy project.
ReplyDeleteIt looks good.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful project. There is a similar green space being developed near my house and I can't wait for it to be finished.
ReplyDeleteJust had a look at the link Pat. I hope it does get finished soon, it'll be a brilliant walk.. if you do it both ways you're having yourself a very pleasant 10km walk.. nice!
ReplyDeleteYou saved the signature for the bottom so to speak, and it fit the signs meme! LOL

I remember when ATMs first came along and TD called it the "Johnny Cash Machine" and then it became the "Green Machine". That was my first thought when i saw this mural!
ReplyDeleteI really like that Toronto is trying to connect the green spaces!
ReplyDeleteA good green idea decorating walls;)
