A Party Of Three For Dinner

There is nothing like a male Cardinal captured on snow (even if it is scattered with seeds) to show what a real red looks like. I shot this a couple of weeks ago just after a snow but the birds had already been eating and spilling! The Juncos are always a sign of winter but the Cardinals stay here all year.

  3. We are fortunate to see these in our backyard quite frequently. Looks like they're enjoying a dinner of Cool Whip sprinkled with salt and pepper! :)

  5. Fantastic shot! I have a hard time capturing these guys. They tend to be pretty skittish in this area.

  7. I thought for sure I would see a cardinal in the snow today, but no luck. I did have some woodies, but they were way too fast for me. I just love how the red stands out on the white like it does here in your picture. Happy you didn’t get the snow. It’s been miserable. My making the snow angel was the only fun I have had in it :-)

  9. The birds have found a good cafe'! Good of you to serve as the chef/host! The cardinal really does look amazing on the snow. We don't have these gorgeous birds in the Pacific Northwest, so until we started traveling, the only way I ever saw them was on Christmas cards. (I was wildly excited when we saw our first one!)
