I pass by this church fairly often and always admire the lovely modern style it has, especially the steeple. This is St Ansgar Lutheran Church and I think it was built in the 1970s but couldn't find any info on the architect.

Modern, I'll say so!
ReplyDeleteIt IS modern Pat, we have quite a few in Perth also, I like that they still have to use the symbolic cross just to show that they actually ARE a church :)
ReplyDeleteStunning.
ReplyDeleteA modest architect like the cathedral builders. Nice shot P
ReplyDeleteIt is a very striking building, one that would look comfortable around these parts.
ReplyDeletelooks modern similar to europeans one
ReplyDeleteIt does have that 70s look.
ReplyDeleteVery modern. It feels familiar somehow.
ReplyDeleteVery modern for sure. Hope your weekend is going well!
ReplyDeleteyup, that's cool.
ReplyDeleteI like the looks of this church.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like the 70's.
ReplyDeleteI'd say it looks like a fire station. Maybe it is in a way.
ReplyDeleteExtremely modern. It looks more like a School Building than a Church. At least to me it does, others may disagree.
ReplyDeleteA very modern looking church, so different to ours...
ReplyDeleteMid-century modern and quite a familiar style to those involved in the Lutheran Church in the 50s-70s. St. Ansgar was a German cleric noted primarily for trying to convert the heathen Swedes. I'd guess this church is part of the ELCA in this country.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite nice, but, for pure architectural interest, I would take the older and more traditional ones. But, as you know, I am a stodgy traditionalist.
