So many Christmas cards have Cardinals on them and that is what this scene reminded me of on a very cold snowy day. Those are a few Goldfinches in their winter garb off to the right of the Cardinal.

This is a nice shot! We have quite a few cardinals here, also. But they come and go. We'll see them for several weeks and then they disappear. Pretty birds, though.
ReplyDeleteIndeed you can also call it a christmas bird with that red color. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteHe's a beauty all puffed up for the picture.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of goldfinches here but I have yet to spot a cardinal.
ReplyDeleteHe looks big!

ReplyDelete...hiding in the burning bush...Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteCardinals are among my favorite northern birds. This year I have even seen some in Naples. Can't explain it.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty!
ReplyDeleteWish you a Very Merry Christmas, Pat!
Peace :)
Perfect Christmas bird!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Christmas!
It does look like the cardinal is protecting itself against the cold.
ReplyDeleteBirds do say 'Christmas' to me too, P. I'm showing something very similar tomorrow. Maybe it's the pop of color in the winter? Bless YOU!
ReplyDeleteHello, the Cardinal is on a lot of the Christmas cards. It is a beautiful bird. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy weekend! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great Cardinal photo. It has always been one of my favorite birds as it is so flashy. It is the state bird of Illinois, so it is not just celebrated at Christmas. Merry Christmas, Pat.
ReplyDeleteBright red Cardinals just 'pop' out of the Winter scene
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Always nice to spot a cardinal. Even better if you get to photograph one.
