Humberside Collegiate Institute

Just around the corner from yesterday's Little Library is Humberside Collegiate Institute and this is the main entrance to the school. I love the architecture of this old section of the school. The school was established in 1892 and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year!

  2. I agree re the architecture probably because so much of my education happened in such buildings. Nothing like them. What is a "collegiate institute"? That's not a term I'm familiar with...

  6. I am always struck by the symmetry of some of these older architectural gems.

  11. The red brick reminds me of the buildings I was educated in (several hundred years ago!)
