Parking For Bikes
This pic was taken early on a Sunday morning by an office building so no bikes were around but there sure are a lot of spaces. I'm not sure how secure these posts would be since it seems that just the front tire slips into the space but I suppose you could put the bike beside the post and lock your frame to it.
There are a lot of parking places there for the bikes. I assume all the bike riders carry locks with them. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSurely they would carry around a lock for their bikes. Interesting parking spot nonetheless. Greetings to you!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of something I saw in London outside a college building. It was an area just crammed full of bikes all lined up in neat rows. And, the area was lower than street level. I stood there looking at it wondering how they got all those bikes down there and how anyone could find their bike when it was time to go.
ReplyDeleteI imagine that's how it's done.
ReplyDeleteBikes seem popular in your city, judging by the number of racks.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this here...can't imagine it either as it's hard to ride your bike on or along the main roads without immediately causing your death! :( Wish we had a way that people could bike to work safely.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting!
ReplyDeleteBike riding is popular here, but very few streets have bike lanes especially for them. Riding in the street is just too dangerous, but people do it anyway.
It's good to know cycling to work is encouraged and I would say they bring locks to secure their bicycles to these posts.
ReplyDeleteImaginative solutions. I'd be interested to see how cyclists do use them.
ReplyDeleteEncouraging people to ride their bikes tow work, that's very good. I imagine there are numerous kinds of locks to secure it to the post.
ReplyDeleteThey must get used a lot or they wouldn't have so many!
ReplyDeleteIf the bike stands are well anchored to the ground a cable around the bike frame and stand would be secure. They make a fine pattern.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see a parking for bikes, people usually park theirs bikes pretty much anywhere here in USA, always with a chain of course!;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great night!
Enjoy your two-wheeling.
ReplyDeleteNot your normal bike stand.
ReplyDeleteThe architect of the building had an idea. Looks very designed but if you don't get a buckle in your front wheel okay.
ReplyDeleteIt looks a wee bit like an art installation Pat 😀
ReplyDeleteIt'd be cool to see this filled with bikes!
ReplyDeleteWill be filled with bikes ;)
