Curved

This gas station On Dundas St W certainly gives us a flashback to earlier times with its curved walls. Probably the 50s don't you think?

  1. Yes, you are probably right. It's not often we see this look any more unless we visit a little town like Deadwood, South Dakota still has one, but they don't sell gas any more! I've always liked this style.

  3. Hello, I think we may have some similar curved gas stations here in Maryland too. I like the 50's style. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

  6. Oh yes, I used to love this style. I remember two houses in my old home town in Illinois that were built like this and I loved them both.

  7. Thanks! I adore round edges and such in buildings. I lived in a 5 window turret once in Philadelphia in a 19th century house!

  10. They don't make them like that anymore. Looks like a movie set.

  13. We used to have one like this in the neighborhood I grew up in outside of Boston. This one is a beauty.

To answer your comment, I think the storm did come from the US. We got a months worth of rain in one day. It was crazy.

  14. Definitely 50s -- takes me back to my childhood/teens (so last century ;>). It's beautifully preserved -- wish I could say the same.

  18. The Art Deco style of this station is really from the 1930s, but they were also common in the 1950s. Most of these gas stations are now recycled to other purposes. Too bad someone tagged the building.
