Exhibition Place Lion

This is one of several cast cement lions that are found outside of the Liberty Grand building at Exhibition Place. I've shown you a few shots of the building in the last few days. The lions look quite stately don't you think?

  1. Mostly cement is used for more simple solutions and not asfierce as this lion. Nice.

  7. I remember seeing Clyde Beatty at the CNE Grandstand Show with the real thing. Now I am really dating myself.

  8. Lions, even those made of cement, can have a certain majesty about them. Of course, they look pretty funny when their nose is chipped off or someone has taken a chunk of their ear. I guess I'd look pretty funny, too, if those things happened to me. Not that I have a certain majesty or anything. 😃

  10. It has an Egyptian look, I think, like The Sphinx (if it had a lion's head). Hope you are having a great day!

  11. The lion isn't smiling, I guess I've never seen a lion smile. :) He's a quite imposing figure though.
