The Bar Ape (ah-pay) is a gelato spot just off St Clair Ave W and unfortunately the ice cream season is over for us. The business started off selling gelato from a 3-wheeled Piaggio Ape truck and hence the name. I like this night-time scene with the scooter out front.

I guess it would be a bit too cold for ice cream eating around this time of the year. I love the photo. You are right, that scooter outside is the perfect addition.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people pronounce this properly? Looks like a cute shop. Our ice cream store in town stays open all year but they also do hot drinks, etc. In the summer they open a second location a block away.
ReplyDeleteClosing gelato stores in winter? How can people live there?
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you included the proper pronunciation...I am one who is ignorant enough to have been totally wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt's never to cold for ice cream.
ReplyDeleteLiving in Florida, I guess never thought about some places having an ice cream season. I like the pronunciation of this place!
ReplyDeleteOh, well. Until next year.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable shop . . . wait a minute, did you say ice cream season was over . . . i've never heard such words. We eat ice cream year round, LOL.
ReplyDelete...the ice cream season is over? oh no!
ReplyDeleteI like it. We're in full ice cream season here.
ReplyDeleteIt looks welcoming. There's a gelato place here that remains open.
ReplyDeleteCan't scream for ice cream if nobody is there to hear you. Love the composition of this photo, very nice, Pat.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Pat! Our ice cream store just cuts back on their hours in winter & we managed to nip in last night for a treat!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but that seems an unfortunate name. It's probably constantly pronounced wrong!
ReplyDeleteThis is to bad. I still like to eat ice cream in the winter, and Gelato is no exception.
ReplyDeleteThese places must do really well the rest of the heart if they want to make ends meet.
ReplyDeleteNo gelato for the holidays. That sounds terrible. I like the scoter.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Closed for the season! Imagine that! It's exactly the opposite here Pat, in fact I had a huge ice-cream this afternoon 😀
