This mural titled "Diamonds Of Extinction" was painted in 2014 by the artists Shalak and Smoky working as Clandestinos. I have been several time and there are always cars parked there so am finally posting it now. There is so much detail to look at in this one and you can feel their South American influence although I haven't a clue as to the significance of any of the images. There are diamonds sprinkled along the bottom but they are hidden by the cars.

Even with the cars there, it is still a awesome mural.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of anthropomorphism in this mural...animals dressed as humans can be fun but I don't see the significance either. And that big red owl is quite scary. I think the whole mural is scary ... it looks like the characters are standing atop the remains of a battered and destroyed world. Maybe it's a warning we need to get our act together or all hell's gonna break loose?
ReplyDeleteGosh it's a beauty Pat, lots of detail. Car park murals can be tricky, pesky cars 😀
ReplyDelete...I'd love to see this in person, perhaps someday!
ReplyDeleteIt has quite a strong fantasy, dreamlike feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThere is definitely some mythological influences going on here. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteVery surreal, but I like it!
ReplyDeleteEmotional, not just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice mural even with the cars with lots of detail. I like it!
ReplyDeleteGreat and colorful. Love it.
ReplyDeleteStrange, but interesting!
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of different details. Cars in front of murals bug me too, lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for contributing Pat.
There must be a story behind each of the characters in the mural, but I don't know what they are. Visually interesting.
ReplyDeletePreciosos son siempre los murales que compartes.
ReplyDeleteGracias Pat!!
Wow, this is a lot of all kinds of thoughts going on. It makes me wonder one artist or perhaps a couple painted here? Just how long did it all take!
