This is one of two lions belonging to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) that were for many years outside in the Chinese Garden along Bloor St but were then moved inside when the garden was taken over by the Daniel Libeskind Crystal addition. After living indoors for several years they have now been placed out in the fresh air beside the newly reopened entrance along University Ave. Apparently they have special coats in the winter to protect them from the elements - I'll have to check that out.

Hello, Great critter and a cool welcome to the museum. I am glad they are well cared for. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood to know these fine looking Chinese lions are well cared for. They are a great addition to the entrance to the Museum.
ReplyDeleteQuite formidable!
ReplyDeleteThey do look like they belong outside but, I'd love to see those special coats they wear.
ReplyDeletePretty impressive. They're better outside so more people can enjoy seeing them especially photographers. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome statue. Have a nice weekend
ReplyDeletegood one!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the weather hasn't been too good to him.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that they can be outdoors again. I've seen a variety of statues of these sorts of lions but this one looks more detailed and ornate than most, particularly his pedestal.
ReplyDeleteLovely critter!
ReplyDeleteFuera será más admirado. Gran león!!
ReplyDeleteI like those lions! Calgary has lions statues that 'come alive at night an look for food in China Town'.
