Bridge Over Humber River
When I showed you the kayakers in the Humber River a week or so ago you could see part of this bridge in the background. It carries Bloor St over the Humber Valley and was constructed in 1924 and totally rehabbed in 2010/11 even having the old lead paint removed from the steel supports while the whole structure was wrapped to collect the dust. The path you see runs all along the river right down to Lake Ontario and is very popular with walkers and bikers.
...yep, got the lead out!
ReplyDeleteHello, nice bridge and the path looks great for the walkers and bikers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
A very impressive bridge and that path toward the lake sounds like a perfect place for walking or cycling. It makes me think that I haven't been on a bicycle in ages. It would be fun to follow a green space like that.
ReplyDeleteA peaceful spot!
ReplyDeleteThe arch is quite graceful.
ReplyDeleteLove the under bridge structure Pat.. sounds like nice walk, have you done it?
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited Ontario, I was impressed by all the nice parks and trails for people.
ReplyDeletecool place
ReplyDeleteFor it's age the bridge is holding up pretty good.
ReplyDeleteA nice wee spot to rest just like the person that is taking advantage of it.
ReplyDeleteNice bridge indeed.
ReplyDeleteLooks a pretty solid bridge. After that one collapsed in Italy, I imagine more bridges will be checked over and renovated.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy the people who had to do that work, but it was work that needed to be done.
ReplyDeleteThey did a nice job on it; it definitely looks well cared for.
ReplyDeleteLooks good.
ReplyDeleteThe little human in the photo provides scale... once I spotted him I noted the true size of the bridge!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy the greenery, not long from now it'll all be white!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have a nice trail system!
