Elf And Friend
I am not really up on the latest kid's books but there seems to be a whole series revolving around an elf and a companion with a cuddly toy included with the book. The St Bernard is the latest pet in the series and I'm sure this float was popular with the kids. You can see that there was still a rope stabilizing the dog during the float's journey from the assembly location to this marshaling area for the parade. It was later removed before the parade began.
...that's a mighty big elf!
ReplyDeleteThis really is a very cute float. I love the dog. It makes me think of the St. Bernard that I grew up with. He was such a big sweetie.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! Have a nice evening
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Your parade photos show a contemporary slice of youth culture. Some of us geezers may miss some of the references unless we hang around children. Elf? Okay...
ReplyDeleteI thought the Elf on the Shelf was merely a decorative thing, not more than that.
ReplyDeleteYes, they can get frisky those St Bernards; best keep them roped up. Have a lovely Christmas!
ReplyDeletethat's a giant elf!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the elf grew up. :)
ReplyDeleteElf on the shelf! Dog listening to a book being read to him. Such a sweet float.

Parades are always fun!
ReplyDeleteIt may be an unpopular opinion but I am SO glad Elf on the Shelf never became part of our house.
