The Black Swan Tavern has been a fixture on the Danforth since 1972 and continues to be a great neighbourhood pub as well as a venue for live music. It is impossible to get a pic without a car parked out front but it is their great sign I wanted to show. Black swans are a bit unusual in Canada so it is nice to see this one.

ReplyDeleteNice art deco front
ReplyDeleteI have had a few drinks in there - always nice to see establishments that survive for decades.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a Swan's hotel/brewpub in Victoria. I can't remember their sign but their ale and fish and chips are all great.
ReplyDeleteNice sign, love the windows too. Black Swans are native to the Southeast and Southwest of Australia, and the black swan is the official state emblem of Western Australia.
ReplyDeleteGreat symmetry in your photo along with that fine old sign.
