Red Squirrel

I spotted this red squirrel out on a day when the snow was starting to disappear. I hadn't seen one of these guys since our deep snow arrived.

  2. Squirrels are so cute!
I am threatening to shoot them here (I would not really do that) because they eat the suet I put out for the Woodpeckers!

  7. They have been out and about here for a while. They are pretty pugnacious too; if they squabble with the Grey Sqirrels they seem to come out ahead.

  8. Red squirrels always remind me of the forester in Doc Martin who was visited by a giant red squirrel. :-)

  10. What beautiful coloration it has! I fear many of our local critters went hungry when we had our uncharacteristically heavy snows. One of our farms suffered very heavy crop losses when migrating birds ate all the growing broccoli because they couldn't forage their usual fallow fields.

  14. I love the squirrels! Your gate is nice, too. What is your snow like in TO? I was shocked when we went to Ottawa, about 2 - 3'.
