I spotted the first pansies of the season at a local garden centre. Pansies can survive a little cold weather so are always the first plants to appear in the spring.
Oh yes! Pansies are one sign of spring that I even see here in Sw Florida... they apparently bloom everywhere .( too hot here for most traditional spring flowers).

The rule of thumb around here is to not fully trust the weather until after Mother's Day in May. I try to restrain myself until then.
