Little Italy

I spotted this mural with the Little Italy sign along College St in Little Italy. There is a movie theatre with that signage but it is now called the Royal but when it opened in1939 it was the Pylon. It is too bad that the cars are always parked there and some fool tagged the mural but it still works well.

  2. I always enjoy your posts, plus your visits to my own blog! Your photos are always interesting, clear, detailed with lots of background information. Regarding my post today: did you miss the misspelling on the sign?

  3. That tagger was very disrespectful. This is a great mural showing a little neighborhood history and pride.

  5. It makes you want to slap the graffiti tagger.

  7. Nice mural, well done. I agree with William about the tagger. It stinks when people feel they have to deface a piece of art.

  8. Well that's just rude of someone to tag over that mural....isn't there some kind of code or something? Pylon is an interesting name for a theater!

  9. Even with cars the mural still looks good. With the tag... not so good.

  10. Shame about the tagging. One of the greatest murals I have photographed was tagged recently too. So sad.

  14. Such disrespect for the mural (and muralist), though at least the tagger used the same colours...
