Studio Theatre

This pretty little building was built in 1914 as a Lutheran church and continued to be a church until 1966 when it was sold to U of Toronto and turned into a theatre in 1968. Now named the Luella Massey Studio Theatre it is used as a teaching facility and is also rented out for private events.

  1. ...the outline of the gable end has a southwest feel. It's great to hear that it wasn't thorn down and a high rise built in it's place. Thanks for joining in today.

  2. Such a pretty little place. It has the look of a church but, I bet it makes a good theatre when needed.

  8. The small Presbyterian church I attended as a boy has long since been deconsecrated (if that's a word) and turned into a performing arts center.

  9. It looks like a nice space. The scale looks good for its current purposes.

  12. Reminds me of how other colleges are buying up and re-using old churches.
