The building on the opposite corner from yesterday's post is the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum). In this pic you can see the original 1932 building and also the Crystal wing which was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind and constructed in the early 2000s. The sign visible on the building is for the Bloodsuckers show which explores nature's vampires such as bats & leeches. Not something I will be rushing to see. That is the Royal Conservatory of Music just peeking at us from the distance.

The Crystal Wing looks amazing Pat, it seems quite the thing to do now to museums, ours is having a huge glass extension added, really looking forward to seeing it when its fini in November ✨
ReplyDeleteThat Crystal Wing is quite an amazing structure. It's very modern; even futuristic.
ReplyDeleteI'd pass on the bloodsuckers too. Especially after getting that 'vampire' related spam I got a week ago.
The ROM sure stands out with all its glass and odd angles.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing structure. Leeches and bats, no thank you!
That old and new sure make an interesting scene. Bats are kinda interesting, I saw a talk on them at our nature centre and then we went out with these sonar things and could hear them and even saw quite a few as they flew over us.
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly I will never like that addition.
ReplyDeleteI assume the ROM is closed up now.
Knockout architecture. Leeches, hmm,...used to be a home remedy. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a contrast between the old and new. Great photo, Pat.
ReplyDeleteVery cool marriage, P!
ReplyDeleteVisited the ROM several times as a child. Mom and dad would get a room in the Park Plaza across the road and take us to the big city for a couple of days.. I've never seen the Crystal though.
ReplyDeleteParece que están unidos.
ReplyDeleteSi está en cuarentena, pásala bien Pat. Hay que cuidarse y va a ser larga.
Desde casa te mando este abrazo 🙅
Fabulous architecture. I'd love to see what it's like inside.
ReplyDeleteBloodsuckers? Not so much.
That's quite a contrast in styles!
ReplyDelete...now that sure is an attention grabbing building! The classic building would normally be my favorite, but wow all that glass is something! I would pass on the Bloodsuckers too. Thanks for sharing, take care.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool!
ReplyDeleteBut bats in these days are a little off, no? Or maybe even the opposite!
The crystal wing looks a bit like our Taubman museum
