Along The Laneway
These are the trees that were partly shading the laneway in yesterday's pic. The balconies belong to a very old 4 story apartment building, the kind of building that people move into and stay for years and years. It looks like the wood railings could use a coat of paint and then it would all look wonderful again. Someone has a green thumb in there!
Luckily the old building was decorated with beautiful and lush trees.
ReplyDeleteThe old building's walls should be repainted, maybe given a bright color to make it look brighter, not bleak.
Plants always brighten up any situation 🌼 Thanks for the tip about Restoration Australia Pat, something interesting to watch, I must admit I'm not finding much that grabs me on telly these days ✨
ReplyDeleteSomeone has created quite a full balcony garden. That is a lot of hanging plants.
ReplyDeleteAll those plants provide a bit of privacy.
ReplyDeleteThese back porches look just like the old Chicago "shotgun" apartment buildings. They were called that because the rooms were arranged straight from the front to the back door with living room in front and kitchen in back.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo. You wonder about the residents.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, we had a porch like this and my mother used hang laundry out there, we used to sit and eat out there too. I always loved a long porch. As a kid you got excited being out there doing something cool. :) Ah, the memories, thanks Pat for bringing those memories back.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought those were wind chimes and I was wondering how the neighbors react to them. Then I cropped the picture down and realized they were hanging plants. I'd love to see the inside of that apartment.
ReplyDeleteWould not take much to make it look more inviting.
ReplyDeleteI love all the plants, that would be me if I lived there!
ReplyDeleteSomeone is doing something right if people move in and stick around. That porch is a small urban jungle.
ReplyDeleteHello,
