While I was walking along the trail in yesterday's post I spotted these trees that had put out an extensive root system to keep themselves stable on the side of the ravine. Pretty impressive.
That is an extensive root system. I do love a trail in the forest. There is always so much to see. Take care, enjoy your day! Wishing you a happy weekend!
Those are amazing roots. I hope they're not so exposed as to be compromised (some just grow that way, some are eroded). (To answer your question, the Flipper sign is still up next to the highway.)
They look great! Like octopus tentacles.

Fascinating to see Pat, the trees look fairly old, those roots are doing a great job 💜
ReplyDeleteErosion is taking total.
ReplyDelete...I see the same thing, particularly in the Adirondacks.
ReplyDeleteJust barely hanging on, I'd say. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose are certainly some gnarly looking roots.
ReplyDeleteTrees can be quite resilient in conditions you wouldn't expect them to be.
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Vaya. Sobreviven con las raices fuera.
ReplyDeleteBuen fin de semana Pat. Cuídate.
Un abrazo.
There's a lot going on under the ground which we rarely get a glimpse of.
ReplyDeleteWe see that here too with trees that fell over still growing with their roots exposed.

ReplyDeleteBrilliantly Titled
ReplyDeleteCheers
Nature is strong and finds ways. We all will. (See Corona, we will, also).
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful!
